Gogglebox Ireland star David Reilly reveals he was “torn apart” by music mogul Louis Walsh.

David and his wife Sarah are among the stars of the Virgin Media hit show, which returns with a brand new series this autumn.,

The Dundalk couple opened up about being recognised in public for being on show – with David revealing Louis Walsh was not his biggest fan.

He told us: “The funniest one we ever had was meeting Louis Walsh. It was the weirdest thing. We went a few years ago to watch Ireland’s Got Talent being filmed and we were sitting there. At that time, you didn’t think anyone thought anything of you… you were just a guy with a beard.

“But we were sitting there, and Louis Walsh was there as a judge, and he was staring over and Sarah was like ‘he knows who you are’. I said, ‘he does in his backside know who I am’.

“So anyway, they stopped filming in between and over walks Louis Walsh and he tore into me because apparently, we had made so much fun of him on the show and not only that, he then took me onto the stage where they had Denise Van Outen, Jason Byrne and Michelle Visage.

“He then decided to just complete roast me in front of a studio audience. The Cabra girls were up at the top laughing down at me. It was honestly horrific.

“Then I introduced him to Sarah, and they shook hands and walked away.”

But David revealed Sarah’s hand was covered in salt and vinegar crisps when she shook the former X Factor judge.

“But Sarah was mortified because she was eating a bag of Tayto salt and vinegar and she shook Louis Walsh's hand covered in salt and vinegar.

“Every time I see Westlife, I just get the fear. Sarah see a bag of salt and vinegar, she just shrivels up,” he added.
